Rock Tumbling Size Chart
(This chart will help you decide what size rock, and how much you will need for your tumbler.)
1.5 Pound tumbler
Holds 1 pound of rock on average.
The size of a nickel or smaller. (0.5inches or smaller)
3 Pound Tumbler
(This is per barrel, if you have a dual barrel you will need to double the amount, but not the size.)
Holds 2-2.5 pounds of rock on average.
1" or smaller.
4.5 Pound Tumbler
Holds 3 Pounds of rock on average.
1.5" or smaller
6 Pound Tumbler (This is per barrel, if you have a dual barrel you will need to double the amount, but not the size.)
Holds 4.5-5 Pounds of rock on average.
2" or smaller.
12 Pound Tumbler
Holds 10-10.5 Pounds of Rock on average.
2.5-3"
20 Pound Tumbler
Holds 17 Pounds of rock on average.
4" or slightly bigger.
40 Pound Tumbler
Holds 30-32 Pounds of rock on average
The size of a soft ball or slightly bigger. 6" approx.
