Silver
Silver is found in nature as both a
mineral and an element.
Silver has a long history as a
precious metal. It has been used extensively in ornaments, jewelry,
silverware, and coinage. It has been used as the back of mirrors because
when highly polished it reflects 95% of the available light back at you.
It used to be used in photographic
film development. An important use today is as a disinfectant and
antimicrobial.
It is harder than gold and more
conductive than copper.
