Thank you all for your patience as we move. Our new location is 1017 South Main Street, Salt Lake City, Utah.
We are excited about moving in. At this time we're planning to re-open on Saturday, April 8th. (That will depend upon finishing up the last of the permit process through Salt Lake City, so please check back for the latest updates.)
The building was built in 1929. It was originally Paul's Cleaning and Dyeing. It was purchased by Don Herbert around 1960, and eventually became a printer supply shop. You might notice the side street just south of us is "Herbert" street. We wonder if there is a connection. You can access our parking from Herbert Street or from Main Street. The property changed hands a couple of times again, and then became Budget Auto and later A+ Auto.
Because of its long and varied history, we've had to modify the building to make it appropriate for retail. We've tried to keep as many original details as possible, including beautiful brick and plaster work inside and out.
We're now working on signage. At the moment there isn't any. If you own or work for a sign shop in the Salt Lake area, and you'd like to bid for a sign, please e-mail us at rockshop@rocks4u.com.
