School maybe out, but rocks are in!
Come join us to put together rock and mineral collections, pick and cut open geodes, and make beautiful tumbled stone rock jewelry!
*We know our young rock hounds are haunted by tax, so count your pennies and we'll take care of all taxes on your purchases this Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday!
Here's the schedule for the summer carnival:
Tuesday: Pick your geode from our $10.00 bucket and we will cut it for FREE (regularly $12.50) ! Don't worry we'll hold it shut until you get to open it and you can be the first to see the inside of your new Geode for the first time in human history! You can even stand out and watch us cut open your geode! Learn why rock equipment is different, and what it takes to cut through rock! Our saw will be running from 9:30am to 3:30pm, minus a small break for lunch, and this is a first come first serve. (During Tuesday's promotion we will not be able to cut open other rock, or take special orders. Geodes which are brought in cannot be cut for FREE during our summer carnival. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Wednesday: Create a rock and mineral collection for just $15.00. We'll provide the rocks, minerals, and fossils. You just have to come and enjoy! We will be teaching how to tell the difference between rocks, minerals and fossils, doing some fun quizzes, and compiling personalized collections! This fun workshop is for children ages 5 years and up (or under 5 with an assisting parent). Parents are free (with paying child) and are encouraged to come learn! Come anytime from 9:30am to 5:45pm and we'll be glad to help each child as they come in!
Thursday: Create a colorful rock key-chain or stunning stone necklace for $5.00! If you'd like to create a second to give to dad for Father's day each additional piece of fun tumbled stone jewelry is just $3.00 . Learn how you can make easy and fun jewelry using stone pebbles or tumbled stones! Safe and fun for children of all ages. (We ask that children under 5 have an assisting adult handy as we will be using rock glue). Come in anytime from 9:30am to 5:45pm and we will be glad happy to start creating with your child!
*Purchases will be discounted the exact amount of the tax. Taxes will still show up on your receipt...

ReplyDeleteYes, there is a dichotomy between rocks and minerals. When I tell people that they look at me as if I am a deranged professor with a stained tweed coat drooling over my self.
